The experience was horrible, don't go there & get the same results. First, the child's sippie cup straw was chewed so badly that you could not suck up drink. Not to mention that it could not have been properly cleaned in its condition. We should have known that this was ignored by the busboy, dishwasher, and server that the meal would not end well.
Next, the kid's portion of 5 fried shrimp and 10 French fries for 7.95 was pathetic, it would have been better to microwave a box of bargain butterfly shrimp from the grocery for $1. The steak fries were hard & tasteless, leftovers from prior night's baked potatoes. Lastly the sweet tea is instant & tastes like it. Normally not a deal breaker, but just one more gripe. The hamburger was order rare, and came out well done. We asked to speak to the manager repeatedly. Once every other customer left, the manager cleared the last table & couldn't ignore us anymore. She said we couldn't get a discount for the burger because we didn't mention it earlier. We said this was because she wouldn't come to our table. She said she was tired of listening to our complaints & we needed to leave.
My wife and I recently visited. We enjoyed the nice views and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the food was not very good and the prices were on the high side. I ordered a NY strip medium, steamed vegetables and a salad. The salad was iceberg with a slice of tomato. The veggies were a small portion of cauliflower, broccoli stems and a couple of carrots. The steak came out very rare. My attentive waitress was hovering nearby and had them try again. Well done. My wife tried the grouper with mango and coconut topping. She got a thin slice of something (tilapia?) with some sort of mango jelly and coconut sprinkles for $17. It couldn't be that they were too busy, because we got there at 7:30 on a weekend night, and only 1 foursome came in after us. There's a lot of good reasonably priced restaurants in Punta Gorda. This is not one of them.
