I have been coming to Marco Island for the past 15 years and I still can't find a better place that welcomes you as you are and offers you GREAT food at such reasonable prices. Every friend I bring to the Craxy Flamingo always has Great things to say about the unique service (order at the bar) and outstanding food. The Uncle Vinnie's Steak Sandwich is a favorite, along with the conch fritters and raw bar! Definitely recommend for all who enjoy a down to earth place with great food, entertainment and good people...
Tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from another restaurant. Prices on the meals are excellent. Happy hour is from 3-6 PM with $1.00 draft beer. Ordered chicken strips for $8.99, Clam Strips for $8.99, Grouper Basket for $11.99, and Grouper Sandwich for $9.99. Best values on the island. Staff is very friendly. Located in the strip mall behind Publix. www.thecrazyflamingo.com
This is one of my favorite places on Marco Island for a delicious casual meal chased with a beer or two. The Crazy Flamingo has the best buffalo wings I've had anywhere (though anyone trying the Bald Eagle wings may want to bring a towel and perhaps a cardiologist), sublimely perfect peel and eat shrimp, a great grouper sandwich, and similar bar food and seafood-oriented items.
Here's what it's not -- it's not scenic (strip mall), or trendy (the bar stools look to be occupied by locals who are probably here a lot), or a place with a long menu. In short, this is a small place with limited seating and more of a bar than a restaurant, but worth checking out for an inexpensive and fun place for a quick, good meal.
