I used to live in Naples and one of the things I miss most is Frascati's!! I love it. I always ordered the Penne al Forno and made sure I had enough to take home and savor the next day. I love their salad dressing and their dipping oil for bread. True, there is no atmosphere, but the food makes up for it. I don't care if you have to wait, and can't get "in and out". It is worth the wait.
I have been hearing about several people that recently dined there and were de-frauded out of money by using there credit cards. They were over billed (money added to their bill after signing the slip to pay). Also, when confronted by these individuals a couple of days later the manager said he was aware of the problem and he would correct their credit card problem. However, nothing was done to the waitress that continues to be employed there.
Get their Saltimbocca The Best I have ever Had- better thab all the Saltimbocca I have eaten in Manhattan and Bostons North End ! Something about their creamy white wine mushroom sauce covered over prosciutto ,Provolone and very thin veal Amazing !!!!! The secret is in the sauce- I think most other restaurants use a drippy marsala wine only.... This restaurant is so good my family used to visit a couple times a week when my dad was alive. I think I'm going to try to get some of that Saltimbocca sent up North to New England-
(much like Hawkeye did with "Adams Ribs" episode in MASH)
The decor is not over elaborate or fancy but simple with clever quotations about food on the walls and is sort of located in a shopping center- but with their reasonable prices- don't let that deter you from that wonderful Saltimbocca
