Alvinos is an absolutely amazing place to be. Their food is wonderful and their service matches. They have karaoke every tuesday. Its a very fun environment to be. Please.... try it. :)
I ordered the antipasto for two from your St. Andrew's Plaza pizzeria last night.
Your antipasto was beyond disappointing -- it was simply not acceptable. There was an overabundance of sliced black olives (not whole) and banana peppers (instead of whole pepperoncini). Most antipasto also offers artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, pickled mushrooms and other types of olives. You stuffed the lettuce base with Mozzarella cheese only and did not include chunks of sharp Provolone, Fontina, and/or Parmigian-Reggiano.
The presentation was a mess --- it looked as if the lettuce (which was wet and not properly drained) had been jammed into the container with the olives and peppers piled on without any thought toward âpresentation.â The rolled salami/cheese was clever. You could have chunked the meat for a more substantial look and added a bit of pepperoni. There are lots of variations on Antipasto, depending on where in Italy you are eating. But I have never seen anything like what you sold me.
It was taseless and slapped together.
Why did I order out instead of making my own â because I was hot and tired and thought Iâd try the ânewâ place. Antipasto was an easy test of the skill level of the establishment which is why I am so annoyed. How could anyone mess up a basic salad? Boy, was I surprised â and it wasnât pleasant. I donât think Iâll come back, nor will I recommend your place to anyone I know.
My suggestion to you is to stay with your pizza which a couple raved about.
By the way, the DJ and music were way too loud for such a small space. Itâs a nice concept â probably better for a weekend crowd.
Sorry that this wasnât a glowing review. But your website states you opened your pizzeria because there was nothing locally that compared to real, homemade food -- this was definitely NOT wholesome, homemade and good food that I have had enjoyed from New Jersey pizzerias.
Our Pizza Club loves this place. It's a Family Owned and Family Run Business. Everything is just over the top. The Food is just Outstanding. Try this place once and you'll be hooked. You will not be disapointed. Hope you try it and enjoy.
