My first experience with Theresa's Restaurant was a good one. The food was good, quantity small, somewhat overpriced and service excellent. I had been searching for a pleasant place to have lunch on my way home from work. I thought I had found it so I went back the next day. Service? Zero. After waiting for about 30 minutes for a coffee refill I finally asked the gentleman at the cash register for some coffee. The first day I left more than a 30% tip. Second day more than 20%. Two days later I returned to give it another shot. Zero service. Each time I was the only customer. I did not seek assistance from the gentleman at the register, just left a tip of more than 20% for the disappearing waitress who took my order each day. I immediately wrote a letter to the Owner/Manager stating the above. I said I was not complaining, just advising them that NO SERVICE EQUALS NO CUSTOMERS. I waited a couple of weeks for some kind of response such as "Sorry...we will do better next time." Response? None. Obviously no one at Theresa's is interested in the bottom line. Certainly I will never go there again. Had there been service, I would have spent $30 or so per week plus paid tips totaling about $12 per week. What this amounts to is a monthly loss of cash in the neighborhood of $172. Not a lot, but, if others have the same experience you are talking about big bucks. Today I found a flourishing restaurant in Palmetto where the food quality and quantity were superior, the service excellent and the prices about 10% higher than Theresa's. And, they were extremely busy. It would be a good education for Theresa's management to have lunch at said restaurant so they can experience what it takes to make it big in a very difficult business. They have my name and address (if they did not burn my letter) and I would be happy to tell them of my new found home for lunch.
