Fantastic place to get to gether with friends. Great view of the Man. River and we lovd the food. friendly waiter gave us fantastic service. If your looking for a outta sight place to go and be with friends then go here.
My wife and I visited Woody's twice very recently and we had two totally different experiences.
Saturdays the 11th, we stopped in at 2:00 with our 14 year old son. The band was great, the people friendly, service good, and the food was good as well.
We ordered Buffalo Wings to start and, as is often the case in Florida, the Hot Wings were not hot. Mild to Medium better describes the "heat". Having moved here from the Southern California we are expect hot to be , well, HOT.
We ordered the Fish entree special, Haddock, and it was cooked just right. That is, just cooked through, still juicy, flakey, and tender. The cook does need to be introduced to spices and or, other flavoring methods such as, infused butters, etc...
Overall this was a very good experience. Good food, service, excellent music and a nice selection of adult beverages.
So, my wife and I decided that next Friday, the 17th, we would drive down on a Friday night for dinner, drinks, and dancing. Fully expecting a similarly satisfying experience.
WRONG! The night crowd was a nightmare. It was like the audience from the Jerry Springer show decided to have night at Woody's. Trailer trash ruled the night. A group of very large and obnoxious "women" descended upon our picnic table and the nightmare began in earnest. We looked for a place to escape to but, the place was full and our orders already placed
We asked a bartender if this was a typical night crowd here, he smiled and he nodded, yes. This guy knew why we asked what we asked.
Our experience is, great afternoon ambiance. Good food all things considered, good service, good to excellent entertainment.
The after dark crowd is Trailer Trash on the River.
Dissapointing, considering how much we like the afternoon experience.
Hands down, Woody's is wicked good! If you are looking for the hottest beats, the coolest treats, and great eats, then take yourself to Woody's. If you are looking for wicked good service, ask for Dave; he has no worries and will give you the 411 on everything that the menu has to offer.
