It was founded in 1924 for the purpose of developing a golf course for its limited membership. Since its establishment, the club provides golf, tennis, swimming, fitness, dining and other social events for its members and their guests. The non-equity club averages approximately 850 members. It comprises of four membership categories: full family, tennis social, social and business entity. Legacy/non-legacy memberships are also available. The golf course is an 18-hole championship layout that was designed by Donald Ross. It was renovated in 1999 by golf course architect Ron Garl.
