THE SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS. MY MAIL WAS TO BE FORWARDED TO NEW JERSEY. IT WAS HELD FOR 3 MONTHS WHILE BILLS NEVER GOT PAID. YESTERDAY I RECEIVED 22 PIECES OF MAIL DATING BACK OVER A MONTH.
I am very displeased with this office, I am a office manager with a company by the Sarasota/Bradenton airport when ever there is a replacement of my regular deliver person I always have problem. Sometimes mail is damaged or we don't even get it till after 4pm so that now bank deposits have to go in the next day. That is not a problem but I would expect higher standards with such a large company.
This branch needs to get it's act together.: Since we moved to FL in October we have had a multitude of problems. our mail was not coming to us. the main PO which is about 12 miles from our home is "our" Postal office. We (and our neighbors) complained about not getting any mail but to no avail. We still had major problems. In fact I have the envelope here from one of the disasters from that Post Office. My attorney mailed our closing papers from selling our home in NY on Oct. 6, 2005 It was returned to him in Nov. '05 (his office date stamped it as Nov.7th) with the messsage "Wrong Address Attempted to deliver not Known". the address on this envelope is perfect our complete address spelled out no abbreviations and correct Zip code. When our attorney called us we were away on a cruise with a hold on our mail which was from Nov 9th to DEC 1st. When I called him back he explained the problem to me but I told him to hold it I would pick it up when i came to NY for Xmas. So I have the entire envelope for proof of the one of many problems with that office.When we returned on Dec 1st and picked up our "held" mail we told the person who gave us our mail about the problem with the legal papers plus other mail and packages that had been returned to friends and family members in NY (unfortunately they did not keep the original mailers), he said he didn't understand it would mention it to the supervisor. WE left FL on Dec 20th to go to NY prior to doing so we gave another HOLD order to the same PO. The week of Dec 10th I was expecting an important notorized form from NY, I checked every day and each day there was maybe one piece of mail or none so I called the PO asked if there was some problem did they have any mail for me that was not delivered. I was told NO, and the postal worker who delivers my mail was on her run but he would have her check later. I never heard a word from them. Three days later I went into the PO because I still was not receiving any mail, I was told to wait while someone checked, I waited 20 minutes and no one came to say one word to me. Another lady came in and asked to see a supervisor, she was told to wait no one came. Finally a man was giving held mail to a person and I asked him to help me, I expained my problem and he said it wasn't his job, I asked if he could at least find out if my mail was being held by mistake, or would he call Mr.Hatch to the front as I had waited long enough - this man went to the back and was gone for about 5 minutes, he came back and told me Mr. hatch was too busy. I asked him if he had checked on my mail problem and he said he looked around and found no mail for me but my carrier was on the road she would have to look when she came back. I was furious but what could I do, i needed that document it would take a week to get another one and a copy would not do. I came home really angry but feeling I had no recourse as we had been told Mr.Hatch was the person to deal with and he would not talk to me. I had to go out that afternoon, so I called the next day and asked for Mr. hatch, I was put on hold for 10 minutes then he came on the line and told me that my mail was there that I had put it on Hold. He also said he had called me in the afternoon the day before but no one answered and he did not get an answering machine. I told him I have a machine it was on and I had one other message on it well (said he) you better check it out because it didn't work when I called. Anyway your mail is here. I told him I had put my mail on HOLD starting DEC 20th. No said he you put it on for DEC 10th, I asked him to recheck the yellow card, he said he didn't need to he knew it was DEC 10th and that I am wrong, did I wish to restart my mail. I told him my husband would be in that day and pick up the mail and demand to see the Hold notice. When Ralph picked up the mail, the lady appologized and showed him the notice which did indeed say DEC 20TH!!

Same thing with us- but we are finding that many companies have forward service request that requests the mail to be sent back to them, and then they send it out again. Also, Florida has quite a few snowbirds, and there is a backlog.
