I was on vacation and was searcing for a good mexican place and according to my navigation, this place was 5 stars. Unfortunately, I would have only given it two stars. The chips were stale and the basket came half full. The staff was bent out of shape if you asked for more chips. The best of the worst things I got was the chicken quesadilla. Right before we got our meal they started cleaing the floors (around 8:15 p.m. on a Saturday), and the overwhelming odor of clorox and mexican food did not help the appetite. Not sure I will go back.
Was this the same restaurant described in the other reviews??? I think so...same name and location. I was traveling in the area and thought I would give it a try. What a disappointment. It began with stale chips and went downhill from there. The food was lukewarm, and one item had an off-flavor, like it had freezer burn. I left hoping that I wasn't going to be sick that night.
This is by far one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at in the United States. Having traveled to Mexico, I can tell you the dishes are 100% authentic and reflect not just northern Mexico as many restaurants do, but very much central Mexico (including Mexico City, Oaxaca State and Veracruz State and even Michoacan State). Do try the Huachinango Veracruzana (Red Snapper Veracruz Style). If you live in the area and like Mexican or want a dining experience that will hook you on to Mexican cuisine do try this wonderful restaurant.
