My husband and I make it to Englewood Beach about twice a year and every time we do we make a point to visit the Gulfview Grill. The food is pricey but very well worth it. I love the chicken fingers and Cesar salad. We always have enough left over to box up and have the next day.
We will be spending a week in Englewood this October and we are already looking forward to this awesome restaurant.
I generally hate griping reviews, but thought I should add our voice. Took the kids hoping for a nice meal to be followed by a sunset stroll on the beach. We missed the sunset because of the slow service.
Here's the details: we usually order for the kids first, maybe along with an appetizer to get them going - no problems here. The kids food arrived and was very good - fish fingers made from fresh white fish, very crispy and flaky, our raw oysters came, too and were very fresh. The problem was the waiter didn't come back for our orders for 20 minutes, and then our food took more than an hour to finally appear - then kids were long done and bored, the sunset was over and we had to take everything boxed up back to the hotel - still good food, but restaurants need more than just good food at those prices. The lady sitting behind us had oysters rockefeller that were cold and a similarly absent waitress - she said they had a great experience just a few days before. Maybe they were short staffed?
