User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWonderful authentic (affordable) French Food: One of our favorite informal Sarasota restaurants hidden away in Gulf Gate. They have a very large wine selection at liquor store prices (no mark up) and just wonderfully prepared french food. Very french country restaurant atmosphere..nothing fancy. Don't be afraid to order the beef liver, it's outstanding; so is the cassolet. Highly recommended

A Great Little French Restaurant: I went to French Affair on a Saturday for lunch. I was the only person there at 11:30, so I received prompt attention from the waitress/owner. I ordered a white asparagus salad and quiche lorraine. The salad was very delicious with an ample portion of white asparagus drizzled with an onion dressing. The quiche lorraine was also very good and came with its own salad, which I wasn't exactly aware of when I ordered. After the meal I browsed the wine selection, it's very unique with some vintages that I havenât seen anywhere else. If you love Bordeaux like I do you need to check it out. There is also a deli section featuring a variety of French goodies.
