We found the room and the amenities comparable to any of the high end Marriott or Renaissance properties.
-Parking-
There is no parking, thus you must pay $20/day for parking. Add in the tips for the attendants each time they get your car and it's an easy $30 per day or more.
-Food-
The food is excellent, but slow to be served. The wine list is good and not too overpriced.
-Pets-
They do allow a small pet, but be prepared to pay $125 for the privilege.
-Noise-
As a couple with no children we found the amount of kids screaming and running to be a distraction. We also had to change rooms when a family of 5 moved in next door with the kids screaming and the adults screaming at the kids to be quiet...
Beautiful hotel, good service and excellent food but the rooms are a big disappointment for a luxury hotel. I've had bigger rooms at a Hampton Inn. The rugs in our room were shabby and stained; when we complaind to the staff, they replied that the floor we were on was due for renovations later this year. Hotel has a private beach club/pool about 15 minutes away but the shuttle only runs once an hour. It's a real pain getting there. On site hotel pool is a waste as it doesn't get any sun until 2 in the afternnoon due to its location. For the money, you can do much better somewhere else.
Greatest Bar in Town!: The Ritz-Carlton has a gorgeous bar that is safe for single women to go to. They serve fabulous specialty martinis that were developed by their head bartender, Peter (tell him I say "Hi" if you go). I've met some great people there also - both from Sarasota and from out of town. Just a great place to go and relax, hang out, and get away from it all for a while.

I agree with Travel Guy. The room was a disappointment. We assumed we got the bad room because we had a pet. We did pay $125 just to have the pet... Plus the $169 for the room.
