The Olde World Restaurant & Lounge

The Olde World Restaurant was built here in North Port, Florida the fall of 1987 and opened for business on January 11, 1988. Its original name was "The Olde World Cheese Shop" but, because there was no "Cheese Shop" on the premises, the name was shortened to Olde World Restaurant. The original and present day owners are John & Christine Zagrobelny and Joseph and Teresa Skoczylas. We are a family oriented, casual dining facility serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We do serve a complete line of alcoholic beverages both in our restaurant, lounge and at our two sit down bars. We have a menu of over 200 items, which are named after colorful characters mostly related to the Robin Hood era. Our monthly calendar, which contains daily specials and holiday features, is mailed to customers on our list obtained from our comment cards.
Not bad for North Port. The food is good as long as you don't go for anything too exotic (fajita, Stir Fry the same sauce is used on both of these and it's not wonderful at that) Stick to the sandwiches as they have a few pages on the menu devoted to. The fish sandwich (the grouper one that someone mentioned to is no longer grouper do to the price of it) is great and is my wife's favorite. The Ruben is great as well as their burgers. Just be aware that the sandwiches only come with the sandwich fries are extra. We usually end up getting a side of the Cheese soup as a side. Great service and great breakfasts.
