This whole past week has been a waste. My husband and I decided it was time to make the leap to a minivan. We looked around on the internet, seen this dealer had a few to look at and went to speak with them. Upfront, the salesman seemed nice and genuine. If he couldn't answer a question he'd go ask. We even brought one home overnight for a test run. The vehicle was great, but just not 100% what we wanted. So we went back the next day to tell them we needed more time to think, and that we seen one on another lot we wanted a chance to look at. At this point we were told we had been approved for the one we were using, at a decent percentage rate- and we could sign papers the next day ( their finance guy just happened to not be there due to a family emergency). But, that if we really wanted to look at the other van no problem- they were sister lots and it would be there for us to look at the next afternoon- after all, they did this all time. No problems- no worries since they were almost the same price (2nd van being about $200 cheaper) nothing would change as far as financing etc. My husband, my 2 year old and I went back the next afternoon expecting to see another van sitting there to look at and compare. But there wasn't. In fact when we went in we waited 20 minutes to talk to the salesman. When he came out he said he had good and not so good news. He proceeded to tell us that he called all over and "went to great lengths" to get us the financing on the second van but it was a no go. However, he had "managed" to get us financed for the original one we had been driving. However, OVERNIGHT the overall price had gone up- ever so slightly..and so had the percentage rate and which we would be locked in. In fact, the other van wasn't even on the lot to look at. They were basically trying to force us into the one from their lot. After about 30 more minutes of asking to see actual numbers, stickers from vehicles and talking with a senior finance guy-with no results or real answers, we left. Like I said- at first everyone there seemed genuine, and not overly anxious to make a sale. It was only towards the end of closing a deal that the we got to see the real Rallye.
