Giovanni's Pizza

I recently moved to Hernando from South Florida. One of the first things I did (as I always do in a new town) was to begin the search for the best local pizza. After reading the reviews here; and recognizing that the address was fairly close by, I rushed over to Giovanni's to scan their menu and order up one of those famous gourmet pizzas I had been reading about on this site. Unfortunately, the reviews were a bit dated. Although it's still called Giovanni's....you'd have to order out for pizza...since the kitchen is not operational and hasn't been for some time now. However, you can drink beer (bottle or draft)...shoot pool...throw darts...and most importantly...SMOKE ! The one major benefit of closing the kitchen in your restaurant and leaving the bar open. Being a smoker myself...I am also constantly searching for establishments who allow smoking...so this is a highlight !
I met the new owner... a pleasant young local; who told me he does have plans to re-open the kitchen sometime soon. Meanwhile, I'll SMOKE and DRINK at Giovanni's and I'll let you know when there is pizza available here again.
So, if you need a place to drink beer, chat with some locals, crank the jukebox, shoot some pool, throw some darts, and SMOKE.....this is the only one I've found so-far.
It'll do.....I just hope that when the pizza is once again served....we can still SMOKE !

Another great restaurant in a small town.: Ok so Hernando is much bigger than where I live now but it's amazing how many nice restuarants we have and this one is no exception. Great food, Great service, Great atmosphere, not to mention Lots of room.
