Forest Lawn Memory Gardens

My mother, Marion Robinson, passed away on 9/3/07 and she had previouisly paid for her entire funeral package 10 years in advance. This was an great releif to us all especially with the cost of these arrangements at todays cost. She paid for a 2 day chappel visitation service, an open casket and a grave side service. Well, while makeing the final arrangements we opted for only 1 chapel service, a closed casket and a grave side service which I am sure saved Forest Lawn a lot of $$$. Well, we were then told by the director that mother had borrowed $1000 against her plan and to be able to carry on with the funeral this would have to be repaid. Of course we paid this which by this time had turned into $2400 somehow?? So, we saved Forest Lawn 1 day of chappel service and the services of an open casket which I am sure costs more tham $2400?? I am just urging you all to please get what you pay for and do not let the directors try to dictate to you what THEY want to do.

I had the honor of doing business with Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, in 2005. I know that this review is a little late. I walked into their office proceding my fathers death in april of 05. I was greeted with the upmost respect and dignity. There was 2 people there that helped me the most and that was Trey and Sean. They helped out so much. I was in fear of doing this, I had never had to do anything like this before. They helped me every step of the way.
I plan on setting up my arrangements with them, the pre-arranged services. so that my family does not have to do and go through what i had to do and go through with my father. it is the most uncomfortable thing in the world to do.
Just keep you head up high and they will be there to help you all the way. They are amazing people to deal with. And their gardens and site is beautiful. Thank you guys.
