My 7 yr old daughter attends Simply Dance and everyone there is wonderful.
I love Simply Dance!: Ok, ignore whoever wrote the first review. I started dancing there at the age of 3. After three years of recreational classes, I did 9 years in the competition team. I loved every second of everyday at that studio. Its like a family, the teachers become your mothers, and the other dancers become your brothers and sisters. Also, the environment isn't the only great thing about the studio though. They focus on technique, not just stage presense and flashy tricks (although, like with any competition studio, you do that too). The ballet is Cecchetti which, if you know anything about ballet, is a great method to use to teach. Students who actually want a career in dance and live in that area should go there. One graduated student trains with Alvin Ailey and made it to the final round of the So You Think You Can Dance auditions this year, others go on to some of the top university and community college dance programs in Florida and New York, and students also gain admissions to the Dreyfoos School for the Performing Arts. Also, unlike most competition studios, their ballet program is actually very good. From their ballet, I was able to get into the Harid Conservatory summer program, North Carolina Dance Theatre's pre-profesional program, and now Boston Ballet's year round intensive program. Without the training I recieved from Simply Dance, I would have never been able to get into any of those programs that can almost garuantee me, if I work hard enough, a profesional career.
When my family moved to North Carolina I had to leave Simply Dance, but if I still lived in Florida, I have no doubt that I would still be going there. I am sorry this is so long, I just got really mad when I saw someone say something bad about Simply Dance because it really is a great studio.
Not perfessional: I used to attend this studio when i was a child, the teachers are not very good at all.
