Best Thai Food in Birmingham in a Luxurious Setting
| About: | Do not let Taste of Thai's shopping center location put you off. The interior is filled with beautiful Thai photographs, art and jewelry (some for sale). Sunlight illuminates the dining room and the tables are nicely set. Service is excellent. You will find traditional Thai dishes (pad thai, red and green curries) as well as daily specials. Two of the best meals are Musmun chicken with potatoes and coconut curry sauce and stir-fried green beans. The restaurant does not use MSG. Upon request, the chef will adjust recipes to avoid patrons' food allergies. Low-calorie cooking oil is always used. |

HORRIBLE! i should of bought something from the frozen section in a Walmart!!!!! I called the order in for pick-up and they had me sitting at the bar for 20 minutes because they thought i wanted to place a order for CARRY-OUT - either way....no one ever came to me....and when someone finally did....me food was sitting there all along from before i walked in!!!!....the food was dry and skimpy[my container was half-empty]....it wreaked of old fish[smell] that was never refrigerated!!!. I Recommend :
" SURIN 280" [from 459 - take Mtn. Brook/ highway 280 exit] best THAI food in BIRMINGHAM, AL!!!!

This place lived up to the previous rave reviews. I was not disappointed. I went with a group from my office for lunch and everyone enjoyed their meals. The best spring rolls on the planet, bar none. The BEST coconut soup ever. Service was perfect. Portions were perfect lunch size, not too much but not skimpy either. Lunch prices are very reasonable and there is a terrific selection including sushi. Someone in my group had one order of sushi and shared, it was fabulous! I couldn't believe a restuarant of this quality was in a strip shopping center. Add Taste of Thailand to the top of your next Thai (or restuarant period) to try. It will quickly move to the top of your list.

I recommend the Thai Chicken Marsala. It is out of this world. Surin has nothin' on this place. Also, the Pineapple Curry is fantastic. For Dessert, check out the Fried Bananna. The Chicken wings make for a good appetizer (lightly fried but scrumptious). Don't let the exterior discourage you. The inside is very clean and has a nice ambiance.
