I echo all of the positive comments on Dr. Metz. He performed surgery on me about nine years ago and corrected a near life-long condition that no other doctor had been able to remedy (with the ultimate glory to God, of course). During the course of the surgery he cared enough to take extra time to address a minor cosmetic issue as well, which he was under no obligation to do. It is my firm opinion that he sincerely cares about his patients. He has always been very pleasent and very professional, and I would absolutley recommend him to anyone in need of an Opthomologist.
The reception staff that answered phone when I called said that Dr. Metz was not accepting patients at this time and I stressed that my childs doctor gave me the number and said to make an appointment A.S.A.P. with Dr. Metz. I asked if the receptionist knew another pediatric opthomolgist I could call and she was very rude and unfriendly! Now I must wait 3 months before my 4 year old daughter can see another eye doctor.
Dr. Metz is a caring and dedicated opthamologist. I'd refer anyone who asked to him. Thanks Dr. Metz.

well my 2 kids go to dr. metz about there eyes. they are not rude to anyone, I like them & so does my kids. thank you dr. metz for everything that you do for my kids.
ycant, My son was seen by Dr. Metz. Metz was kind, took time to thoroughly explain. In otherwords, exceptional. His staff was nothing like you described. Maybe you were rude to them and they were firm towards you. Likely, you presented a demanding tone towards his staff, and you mistakenly percieved their firmness as being rude. What you should have done was contacted your referring MD and asked for either 1) a referral to another ped ophthalmologist, or 2) asked for him/her to intercede on your behalf. FWIW, no physician has an absolute obligation to see/treat a patient.
