| About: | Located in the Forest Park area, Silvertron Cafe offers a wide variety of entrees in a casual atmosphere. The decor is tastefully simple, along the lines of a bistro. There are several interesting historical photos of Birmingham on the walls. The eclectic menu offers American favorites in addition to several Italian pasta dishes and a few Tex-Mex entrees. The portions are large, and the service is very good. |

User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsI use to tell people that Silvertron had the best burger in Birmingham, but tonight was a disappointment. I want to say that I grew up in the restaurant business, so I know that every place has an off night, tonight was Silvertron Cafe's. My husband and I have always had very good experiences there- but tonight (my husband ordered steak sandwiches and I had the Black and Blue Burger) my burger and bun were burnt and his "steak" on his sandwiches was very small, so small in fact that it didn't even cover half the bun- funny yes, but at $9.50- not so much. When I asked for a new bun (willing to salvage the burger) the manager took my plate and was gone for awhile before he returned- happy to present me a new bun and new fries- sadly, the fries were barely cooked and I ended up eating half my husbands. If the service was good, (as it has been in the past...) I would give this place another chance- but our server (Kim) was not available and let me sit for 15 minutes with two empty drinks. (yes, I had two drinks and both were empty!) By the time she showed up in the dining room, I asked for the check and she asked if I needed more drink- but by this time, it was too late. When she brought us our check, she never thanked us for coming, she never apologized about the food or the service and I decided to count my losses and leave her a good tip as part of my "Farewell to Silvertron" they were once great, but now I will tell people- Silvertron Cafe? Noway!

Silvertron needs some Chef Ramsey.... The quality of food is of low value. Your in a nice hood come on put a little TLC in what you do....

If you haven't been to Silvertron in recent months, go! There's a new owner since reopening after the demise of the last owner. The food is good, the wait staff good, and the owner has been there every time we've gone in.
