Been there twice. Passing through again in a few
weeks. My wife and I will stop and eat. Great food,
great service and atmosphere. Hope everything same
as before.
We gave DePalma's a 2nd try after a bad first experience. Sorry to say, our 2nd experience was even worse. The service is VERY slow, the menu is unimpressive and the staff is snobby. In addition, this is not a family-friendly restaurant.
I wanted to order a dish that is served at lunch time. The waiter checked with the kitchen who gave him the ok to serve it at dinner. About 5 minutes later, the waiter came back to say that the manager would not let him serve the dish because it was not in the computer for dinner. I was shocked by the lack of customer focus. My husband ordered a pasta dish with chicken that arrived over-cooked and dry. There were no offerings for a toddler, so my son shared the mediocre pasta with my husband. No bread is served with dinner which is really weird for an italian restaurant.
Like many other places in Tuscaloosa, this is just another restaurant trying to live up to bigger city standards that it simply will never achieve without solid customer service and attention to the menu and quality of food.
Highly Recomended!: DePalma's is a great place to go for a date or even a with a group of friends. The food is well worth the price and the service is more than good. Because the food is all made from scratch when ordered the wait is a little longer than you may be use to but it is well worth the wait.
