Penn CF Hamburgers

I was born and raised in Decatur, and I never could get
past the smell of the burgers, never mind the sub-standard
taste. Better off spending your money & time at Krystal's. Although
my grandparents loved them very much.

I've lived in Decatur, AL for several years. I live probably 7 or 8 blocks from CF Penn Hamburgers. I finally decided to try them. I don't know why people go on about these "special" burgers. They are AWFUL!! Its not 100% beef. Its thrown in a vat of oil and fried. The frying part I don't mind. Its just the taste of these "burgers" is, to me, very bad. I've traveled all over the country and several places around the world. I'm experienced and have eaten great food, good food and mediocre food and, unfortunately, bad food on occasion. CF Penn is so very overrated. In fact, they're not overrated. They're just not good.

I grew up eating these little ''guys'' nothing like a DEEP FRIED burger to get you off and running. Its really hard to explain the taste and flavor, only those who have been here can explain it. I would say SONIC is somewhat close to the flavor. they are sold with ONIONS and MUSTARD only , but you can have them add cheese and ketchup if you please. I now live in Colorado and my sister alwasy teases me about having one when she is in there area of the place.... I would not recommend eating here alot due to the way ppl look now at fried foods, but MAN OH MAN do these guys taste awsome as hell. On another note if your in the area and want to try REAL SOUTHERN BBQ , look up BIG BOB GIBSONS right off 6 th avenue. he has won many many times at the MEMPHIS IN MAY FESTIVAL. Which if your local BBQ place has never won there THAN IT AIN'T REALL BBQ..... Its not about tons of BBQ SAUCE its all about the meat.....
