NeSmith Jumbo Hamburgers: A Taste of Americana: This unique, one of a kind, Mom & Pop burger shop is located a few blocks from the Lawrence County Courthouse and town square. Step through the door at NeSmith's and into a simple, no frills, 50's diner-like time-warp where friendly, personal service really means something and a $5 dollar lunch will fill you up.
I didn't see a menu at NeSmith's, just burgers, made to order, with chopped onions, cheese, and one or two fried patties. Round out your meal with a bag of Tom's BBQ Potato Chips and fountain soda. Yep, sinfully delicious FRIED hamburger patties. YUM! I have to tell you, I enjoyed every little bite of that burger. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I had two burgers..... :)
Could have been the burgers were TASTY and INEXPENSIVE, the service was GREAT, the time was MINE, and I felt at HOME in this little North Alabama town.............or was it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD because I was being SOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAAAAAAAAAAAAD, eating a forbidden FRIED burger.......... You may never know, unless you stop by yourself. Ask the little devil sitting on my right shoulder and whispering in my ear for directions.
I recommend you take a relaxing Spring drive through the Bankhead Forest, stop by Nesmith's in Moulton, sit down on a stool at the counter, say hello to the ladies, and get set to enjoy a savory little piece of Americana before this GREAT PLACE goes the way of $1.50 gasoline.
Eat, drink, enjoy,.....Life Be Gooooooooooooood.
Cheers,
Major D
