Moving forward with changes in digital technology, the small business traded the ammonia-vapor "blue-print" machines for state-of-the-art digital printers, resulting in increased capabilities and a larger workforce. In 2007, Datatek began making custom signage with the procurement of a production quality, digital flatbed printer. This investment helped accommodate the growing demand from Datatek's local construction, architecture, and engineering clients for jobsite/directional signs and presentation/rendering boards. The flatbed printer also allowed the business to explore and expand into new markets, such as real estate, fine art, photography, schools, breweries, and other traditional signage areas.
