I agree, the place is filthy!! I live an hour away so i don't get to go very often, but one of the times while we were sitting at the table waiting it looked just like a couple of rat droppings on the grill, but we tried to convince ourselves that it was just burnt rice left on there. Then a few months later we arrive and as we r headed to the door alot of of people start coming out and told us not to eat in there because there was a bug that crawled across the grill while they were waiting!! Needless to say we turned around and went somewhere else. And i agree with some of the other reviews about them being very rude. The cooks are usually friendly, but the hostess and most of the servers are rude. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because the food is good. But overall i do not recommend unless some changes are made!!
From what I understand this place is filthy...I have eaten there but not after my brother-in-law...who works for a pest control company...informed me that he went to spray for bugs and pulled out the grill and found lines and lines of roaches and feces. I will never eat there again. Tokyo down the the street is much better and clean.
I would not recommend going to Shogun unless you have sufficient time to finish your meal before they close for lunch. We arrived at 1:45pm and they close at 2pm. There were several tables going. They asked us twice whether we were going to have anything from the kitchen. We said sushi only. We ordered $80 of sushi and a bottle of sake. At 2:20 we asked for another bottle of sake and a woman came over and said, "We close at 2 o'clock, it's two thirty. You cannot have more sake. Sorry." We asked for a to-go box and left with no tip - first time ever for us to do that. The food is not good enough to overlook the extreme rudeness. Mikawa serves much better sushi.
