Good value.: Thanks to this one restaurant in particular, I had a good vacation when it came to eating decent food. I ate there 3 times in the week I was in Alabama. Each and every time the food was nice. I have no complaints.

Great country/southern style meals.: First off, I must recommend the chicken and dumplings. I've always loved home cooked chicken and dumplings, and this place takes a close second to my mom's recipe. And yes, she was a great cook. The mashed potatoes w/ gravy are quite tasty, and the pork chops are always juicy and tender.

The atmosphere is really nice, too. The walls are full of antique photos of the city and surrounding areas; there are antique school banners, auto tags, original board game boxes, lunch boxes, hand crank ice cream makers, etc. There's just about everything there that would remind one of those great family meals on a nice Sunday afternoon or during a family reunion.

The dimly lit dining area allows for just the right ambience for a romantic dinner, too.

Very friendly staff, a country store/lobby full of all sorts of hard to find and unique items, as well as all sorts of great candy and cookies.

Cracker Barrel is one of my all time favorite places to eat, and I hope it'll be yours too.
