User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA unique atmosphere under the mossy trees! Good variety of food... seafood, steaks, pork chops, reasonably mid range priced. Love the 'Navy' beans and corn bread sticks served when you arrive. Try the appetizer, fried pickles... DELICIOUS! Definately recommend!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFantastic cole slaw , pepper relish and bean precourse combo. I always get the broiled catfish as a main course and it is consistently very good. Make sure you ask for Alicia.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI had to go eat here, even though it was alone, for two reasons. One, seafood is my favorite type of food and this is a place I'd never tried. And two, it's so neat and different! It's an actual schoolhouse from the 1800's (get one of the carryout menus and read about it!) and it was real neat to eat inside it under all the mossy trees. The prices I thought were too much for how much food you're given (I got the seafood platter), but the seafood was pretty good tasting, but what I liked the most were the beans with pimentos that they serve you while you're waiting for your meal to arrive, and I usually don't like beans a whole lot. Go to this place for the experience of getting to eat in the classroom! ;-)
