User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsOK so I had a pretty good lunch here but dont try to eat dinner... its a waste of time. Our server forgot about us completely (literally). They dont have any white sauce for the chicken - WHAT KIND OF SOUTHERN BBQ DOESNT HAVE (or even heard of) WHITE SAUCE??? and dont bother asking for beer - we did; asked for 2 pitchers and they brought us two bottles. They have good BBQ sauce but thats about it. Go to Walmart and buy your own pork and go to the sauce isle and get Big Bob Gibson (A REAL SOUTHERN BBQ man) sauce and you'll be much happier - especially with the poor service you'll get
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA tradition for the USAF officer schools at Maxwell -- a must eat place in the Deep South. This place was a hole in the wall until around the year 2000, when they expanded the seating but kept the same menu and recipes. As a life-long Southerner that has lived all around the world, The Smokehouse has THE BEST BBQ food on the planet. Anyone that says the beans are "ok" has no clue how BBQ beans should be prepared.
Fantastic pulled pork, great beans, REAL Southern atmosphere and authentic people make this the best place to eat if you are ever in Montgomery.

Smokehouse has burned down since your review. What kind of white sauce do you put on chicken? We went to eat at Smokehouse numerous times and never had any problems. I hope they rebuild and open the resturant again.
