Went there around the holidays last winter and found it less than I remember from years past. It did seem pretentious and elitist [all white clientele, lots a young lasses in red dresses] I recall one dish was quite good and another not so but my overall "grog" was - too pricey for the value, not coming back, unimaginative menu and decor.
The food is exceptional, by far the best selections were the crab cake appetizer and surprisingly the bourbon glazed pork......which my children had. The wait staff were wonderful, polite, accommodating, children were made to feel welcome. The most surprising thing I ordered was the Merlot recommended by the waitress, it was exceptional and a wonderful accompaniment to my strip steak. The pork the boys had was wonderful, I would not have normally ordered it, but it was a bonus. The only minor and it is very minor criticism i have is that there could have been a larger menu selection. We loved the restaurant, they took our reservation at short notice. It was great to get in and out early with the boys, if we had been on our own, we would have booked a later reservation. One of Montgomery's best!!! A true find!
The food is good, wine selection excellent, but a bit pretentious. There are other restaurants in town that are of the same quality, but not so over priced. I guess that is the intent though, to keep out the riff-raff.
