I have had pets all of my 55 years. I have never left a vet's office as upset as I was today....at the staff. My 19 year old cat had an appointment regarding a large lump he had developed on his right side. When I made the appointment the day before I told the employee that I had lost my job, and was not prepared to spend a lot of money on my 19 year old cat. He's had a great life. She told me to come in for the doctor's opinion. I went in the next morning with Hershey. I went in by myself to start with to scope out the lobby for dogs that might scare him. No one at the desk. Ten minutes later after watching at least three employees go back and forth to desk without saying a word, I went to car and got Hershey. Anyway, My wait in exam room was long. The doctor was not friendly. In fact he made statements that made me feel accused of not taking good care of my cat. He's 19! I'm proud he's doing as well as he is. The vet drained some fluid from Hershey's lump, gave me a prescription for antibiotics, and told me to come back next week to discuss surgery. I couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth. And this was after I had reminded him about my current unemployment situation. His female assistant was cold, and had a look on her face the entire visit like she would rather be anywhere else but there. There were ads on their walls about payment plans, but I was completely ignored when I asked about it at checkout. $104.00 for nothing. All she could say at the checkout desk was"credit or debit?" I will give Hershey his medicine, but I will not be going back to that office again. Dr. Millis used to be the one and only Veterinarian at this office. He was great! Unfortunately he passed away a couple of years ago. He would not be happy with the new docs at all or how the office is being run.
