User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI was steered to The Colony Grill by a waiter at the Wash House, another exceptional restaurant in the Fairhope area. Since that first trip I have been back once and will definitely go again on trips to the Fairhope area.
The Colony Grill is pleasant and always has a festive air without seeming to try too hard to achieve it. It seems that both times I have been there, diners were celebrating "occasions" -- anniversaries, out of town guests, deployment, etc. -- and it is the perfect room for a sense of occasion.
The wait staff is knowledgeable without being stuffy. My first visit was in August and when I ordered an entree the waiter paused for a moment and then said, "Frankly, you should probably wait and try that when the weather cools down; it's a little heavy for a hot August night." I was convinced and had a perfectly prepared fish entree instead.
On my return visit, in December, I ordered the dish I had tried for in August. It was delicious and I realized the waiter had been absolutely right; I would not have enjoyed it as much in August.
I strongly recommend The Colony for a memorable Gulf coast dining experience.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA group of us had a table here during the KOER "2008" Mardi Gras Parade. It was wonderful the food was good the staff was great and so was the atmosphere. We hung out here till the ball started. We would sit in the restaurant and drink till the parade came through then we would go out to catch beads, back in for mor drinking and back out when the parade came back by as they make 2 passes. Tons of fun.

My Fiancé and I were recently married in the Fairhope area. We made a dinner reservation at The Colony Grill to celebrate afterwards. Upon arrival at the restaurant there was a nice window table with a chilled bottle of champagne along with a smiling server. There was a bouquet of flowers on the table addressed to my new husband and me from the owner. The dinner was of exceptional quality and the service was impeccable. Not only will we be back and refer our friends, but we will return for our anniversary. We highly recommend the food and the warm and friendly staff. Bona Appetite!!!
