I am vegetarian while my husband is not. We both love the Jerusalem Cafe. The food is excellent and attractive. The staff aims to please; once when I did not finish the rice, they told me to substitute something else next time, which I did. We like to sit at one of the tables outside, but the decor inside is also very pleasant. Finally, I know that the restaurant is clean. Since the tables, floors, and restrooms are clean, I'm sure the kitchen is too. I feel confident eating their food. This is a tasty and healthy alternative to deep fried food. Try their vegetarian appetizer! It's our favorite restaurant in Mobile so far.
Going to have to agree with everybody else on here. This place had amazing food for soooo cheap. I can't say I'm an expert on middle eastern food but I've had my share over the years, good and bad, and this place was amazing. I started with the grape leaves with rice in them and they were so moist and delicious. Got a salad with that which I couldn't stop eating. They brought over their Lentil soup since it came with the meal and it was amazing. And the gyro was one of the better ones I've had, and I've had them in major cities before. I coudln't even finish the gyro because I was so stuffed. I couldn't believe when the bill came how CHEAP it was. With tip, all that food was 22 bucks! And the grape leaves and salad could have been split easily.
The servers weren't the nicest in the world but with 3 waiters working when there are only people at 3 tables, I can't say I'd be very happy eithier. Eithier way, they weren't rude, just not excited but the food more than made up for it. Highly suggest this place if you are looking for something different down in Mobile.
YES to AnnahJ's review! I can't say enough good things about the place and the food, and I've been eating there for almost 10 years--consistently delicious and awesome.
