I bought a car from King Honda. I was very happy with my salesman. However before i even got the car home the check engine light came on. I took the car back and after a lot of phone calls they replaced the O2 sensor. I should have known it wouldn't be that simple. 2 weeks later my change oil light came on. I had NO oil after only two weeks. I put new oil in the car and took it to Honda to have them take a look and find the leak. They didn't believe that the car was leaking oil. But finally they had the mechanic look at the car. All he did was change the oil and oil filter and told me to drive the car and see if it still leaked. Well of course it did so i was back at king honda the next weekend. During the week I did a compression test on my engine to find out the cylinder 3 had bad pressure. This is what was causing my car to burn through oil so fast. It took me about 8 phone calls and 5 hours just to get a quote to repair the engine. They want $3200 to fix a car i just bought for $6200. I spoke with the service manager Randy who told me that he couldn't help. Their prices were firm. He said my only hope was to speak with the sales manager Kenny. I knew from my experience two weeks before that Kenny was not very fun to work with. He never returned my calls, he never wanted to accept blame for anything. I knew the only way to get in touch with him was to go down to the store. So i spoke with Kenny and the first thing he told me was i needed to talk to Randy. They were giving me the run around. Kenny also told me he could not help me because i bought the car "as is". So any problems the car has are my problems. When i bought the car my sales man told me that the Honda mechanics had serviced the car and taken in through the shop. My first mistake was trusting my salesman. I tried to get the record of what they did in the shop before selling me the car. There is no record of any work being done, not even an inspection. I thought they had sold me a car they knew was messed up. I am starting to believe that they really didn't know it was a lemon they just sold it as fast as possible to get it out of their hands and off the lot. Now i am told it is my problem not theirs. I was then told i need to talk to Dave King, the owner. I have left him several messages but he refuses to return my calls. I am going to another mechanic. I hope if you are reading this you will learn from my mistakes, don't buy from King Honda. They don't care about their customers.
I bought a 2006 Honda Civic from King Honda in Oct 2008. The saleslady was very nice, but my problems with her superiors began a week after my purchase. I discovered several quarter shaped blotches on the hood after the first time I washed it. I thought it was strange that I would have missed those on the lot since it was a bright sunny day. Each week, especially after washing, more blotches appeared. My husband took the car back to King and was told it was acid rain. My husband explained the car was garage kept and it had only rained once since my purchase. Then he was told it was my fault because I was not maintaining the vehicle properly. He asked to speak to someone with Honda and was told we could see the district manager whenever he came to town. It was after Christmas before we were called to meet with the district manager. My husband again explained that we kept the vehicle in our garage and it was obvious that whatever buffing compound King used to cover the paint problems was gradually disappearing with each washing. We had also been advised by a local body shop that the paint was not consistent with original factory paint. At this point we would have been happy if King would have at least offered us a discount for a new paint job but instead they insisted that I had not taken care of the car and the blotches(now numbering over 20 in 3 months time) were my fault. My husband was told, "your wife bought it and it is hers...not our problem." Both the sales manager and the district manager displayed the worst customer service skills we have ever witnessed. We would hate for anyone else to be subjected to such treatment and we strongly recommend avoiding King Honda for your vehicle purchase. We are currently pursuing action through Honda Motor Corporation and are contacting the Better Business Bureau.
