User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe buffet at the antebellum home WHISPERING OAKS is Southern home cooking at its finest, I kid you not. Food so mouthwatering you'll think that your mama's in the kitchen. They use high grade meat and poultry and the scrumptious buffet menu varies from day to day. All of the vegetables are fresh (not canned) from local farmers. The casseroles are delicious!
If you have room for desserts, they are heavenly. Pecan pies, banana pudding, coconut pies... too many to list.
I have eaten there for years and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The ladies are always there with the tea pitcher to fill your glass. The atmosphere is relaxing with lots of Southern Charm. Oh, and it's a bed and breakfast too. The rooms are lovely !
When we finish our meal, we always retire to the front porch to the rocking chairs and watch the world go by as the delectable meal settles before we journey on our way. Dining at Whispering Oaks is an extremely pleasurable and affordable experience!

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBest home cooked food in town!: When you first walk in the door your mouth starts to water. For less than $8.00 you are able to eat 'till you bust. Fresh cooked food just like your mother used to make, not to mention the best fried chicken & bananna pudding ever!
