The worst canoe experience ever. We spent $38.00 plus $5.00 for a third person. Did not get a third oar and there was no seat in the middle of the canoe. Half-way through the trip there was a tree down in the river which capsized three other canoes with people losing car keys/cell phones. We were warned by somebody on the bank that there was trouble ahead. A Fort Campbell soldier jumped into the river and pulled us to the side. Fortunately, we had a cell signal to call the Police/Fire department to transport us to safety. Mr. Kirby, Bell Witch Owner, told us we would be charged $1000.00 dollars for the canoe/$20.00 per oar/full cost for life jackets. We were not responsible for the downed tree in the river and Mr. Kirby did not care for human safety...only his canoe possession. We we not given any refund or a coupon for a return trip! When we got back to our cars, Mr. Kirby confronted us and told us we owed him $20.00 for one of the missing oars. We told him no as we were ripped off half a trip beyond our control. He then told us he would get attorney and escorted us off his property telling us to never come back again. This is no way to run a business. Funny though....the local Police/Fire Department and people of Adams Tennessee told me what a jerk this guy is. I will tell everyone I know to use Red River Canoe rental and NOT BELL WITCH CANOE RENTAL.
