I visited Cherokee Steak House on October 17th with a group of Red Hatters. I just wanted you to know the food was delicious but the service was outstanding. We were served by Maria quickly, efficiently and in a very, very pleasant manner. She did a great job and just joined in all of our fun while being very efficient in her service. Thank you and we will visit again.
My husband and I chose to celebrate our 1st anniversary there on 02/28/09. We had an excellent dining experience. The atmosphere, our server and the food were excellent. It was our first visit to the restaurant and we will be returning along with friends. We recommend them highly to anyone whom enjoys a great atmosphere with great service and food.
If you want a good cut of prime rib, can't beat it, if you want good service and atmosphere, you're better off at Pizza Hut. I am a long time resident of Gallatin, and have been to Cherokee off and on over the past 20 years; and have seen a steady decline in the service. My last visit was indeed my last.
While it was near the close of business hours, 9:30 pm is still within the posted hours of operation. The "rush" had obviously passed and the dining room was sparsely occupied by myself and no more than 4 other tables of guest; once I was finally seated. It took 10 minutes to be seated! I found myself at a table still soppy wet from being bussed, and surrounded on 3 sides by tables stacked with the dirty dishes of recent patrons.
Once seated, I was not greated by a server, given or even offered a beverage, for nearly another 5 minutes.
Upon the arrival of my "Salad", I quickly realized I had nothing more than plain iceburg, with "One" crouton, and "One" Cherry tomatoe... Dissappointing to say the least... Adding insult to inury, I found my flatware to be dirty with what appeared to be some type of honey mustard, baked on to my knife.
Once my dinner arrived, your typical "Surf and Turf", I found both my steak and lobster to be over cooked. The lobster was rubbery and my "rare to mid rare" steak was thoroughly browned... The potatoe was cold, and smaller than a baseball...
Having known the family and owners, I choose to not complain, as I had done so in the past and not received well. Not to mention, I have seen "Waiting" and know some of the kitchen staff...
In conclusion, 15 years ago, and I could not sing enough praises towards Cherokee. As of late, I hold a quite disparate opinion...
