Went to PF Changs for lunch today because I was craving the Crab Wontons which are always a delicious appetizer. The crowds of the past have dwindled somewhat probably due to the recession. It's still a very popular place with the best address in town (West End ... near Vanderbilt).
Anyway, I tried something new today, and it's the first thing I've had there that I didn't like - Citrus Soy Salmon. Trust me, I love salmon, but this one sounded better than it actually was. It tasted and smelled "fishy" and it hadn't been marinated in anything. There was some "gloopy" stuff on top of the salmon that I assume was supposed to be citrus soy? It had no distinguishable taste of citrus or soy. I suspect my little salmon was not the freshest catch of the day either.
P.F. Chang's is still a great place to dine out - if you can afford it (it's expensive!) - but it's subject to mediocrity too I guess every now and then.
My son & I visited the restaurant yesterday and what a great service. The food was great and the waitress was wonderful. I had a Chang's experience. Going back today
