About:The owner of this deli is a long way from his home in New York City, but he has brought a heaping helping of New York along with him. Lively banter between patrons and owner, colorful decor, fresh ingredients, and big portions make this a fun dining experience.     Was in Chattanooga for a day and friend brought me here for lunch. Good stuff. Had the special of the day, meatloaf sandwich, and no complaints.

    this place a a great find. the food is great - the lunch menu is varied and everything i've had so far has been delicious. servings are pretty generous and there are some unusual combos on the specials menu, which seems to change daily.

    i've been to chattanooga on business 4 times over the past five years, and every time i come into town i head to this place for lunch. if i'm here for 3 days, it's 3 lunches at river street. the owner is very friendly (and funny) and makes you feel right at home. i highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great lunch at a moderate price.
