An extremely good restaurant. The salad and the rolls that are served before your entrees arrive make this a fantastic deal, though it is one of the more expensive places my wife and I go to. Both the salad and the rolls are of a high quality. My wife and I usually get Cannelloni En Bianco and if you want an extremely cheesy dish with hints of nutmeg this dish is a good bet. I have ordered Lasagna with Sausages and Eggplant Parmigiana before as well and those are good dishes also. My only gripe is I would like them to add a dish to the menu for an appropriate price. This dish would have bacon, portabello mushrooms, artichokes, and chicken sauteed in a pan with a lemon cream sauce over it. This could be served over angel hair pasta. I know how to make this dish at home, but I feel like the flavors of it would be appropriate for Provinos and would be very popular. This restaurant is free on your birthday with a drivers license and a paying friend.
WHAT A WONDERFUL EVENING WE HAD!
After reading the disapproving remarks I was compelled to write an opposite comment describing our great experience.
I had searched the web for a different kind of restaurant to go for my friend's B'day. Not putting down Olive Garden, but we can go there anytime and wanted something different. I found this on line and we drove 2.5 hrs to dine here - and WILL do it again - it was worth it!!
The parking lot was full (good sign) and we had to wait our turn (20 min) but we were shown nothing but kindness and courstesy from the staff - and the manager personally seated us.
Mr. John Miles was SO HOSPITABLE and the wait staff was all over us with attention!!! We were overwhelmed with it all - food, service, Italian music playing, and total ambience. Who cares that it is located in a strip mall? For a while, we were transported from mall to "Italy".
I had Chicken w/Eggplant, and my friend had Ckn/Brocolli Fettuccini - both delicious. The portions were so large that we could not finish it all and had to ask for a "people" bag to take the rest of it home. The garlic rolls with virgin Olive oil for dipping are to "die for", and we couldn't get enough - they are light, soft, and flavorful. Olive Garden is good but does not have anything like these. *Note*: Authenic Italian food is NOT spicy, but more mild - so don't expect it to conform to American tastebuds.
After our dinner, we were surprised and treated to a special dessert of our choice (the Spumoni was great) since we had driven 2.5 hrs (150 miles) to dine there. As we were leaving, the manager spent several minutes talking with us and showed us the beautifully carved antique serving hutches in there. Very personable touch and interesting conversation!
The evening was a wonderful experience that we shared celebrating her birthday. We all recommend Provino's and WILL return - even if we do have to drive 2.5 hrs.
Bon Appe`tit !! Enjoy!!
We had a total of 5 people but 2 were children we told them we could sit in a booth. We waited an hour! behind parties of 8. The smart @#& hostess was clueless. I commented to her about her rudness. She actually argued with me. What ever happened to the customer is always rite. Then when the MANAGER come over to talk to us after we were seated. Was a @%# When i was explaining what transpired he told me he wasn't there and it was my word against hers finally i just shewed him away. My meal ended up being free that is not what i wanted. I wanted to leave but after waiting so long it was not an option!!
