We love this bookstore and my family goes every year. This year was a disappointment. First of all- there was an oriental man grabbing books and piling up his cart. He was pushy and would wait for the worker to put the books out and then come in and grab everything. He ran over my daughters toe- I could not believe him. I think he was a dealer or something. He was very rude. Then one time I went around the corner and I thought I saw him removing stickers from the books so I don't know what he was doing. I thought about telling other workers but they seem unapproachable. However, this is a great bookstore and we will not let this incident stop us from going. Mckays I would say pay more attention to bad shoppers in your store.

The skinny on McKay's.: McKays sells and buys VHS, CDs, DVDs, audio books, ipods, game systems, video games, etc, etc. Now here;s the skinny. Money you get for books can be fair or bad. For example I brought in a Michael Crichton book and was given 15 cents. It was in perfect condition. They seem to have a sliding scale on their payments. If you have something that they have a lot of they will either not take it or give you a very low amount. It's based on risk analysis. They are taking the risk when they get 20 copies of the same thing. SO do to this they give you an amount based on whether they think they can sell those 20 copies of the new pop artist of the week. So you get the idea. Bring in unique artists, writers, etc and you will get more compared to the person who reads what's on the top forty and brings in their copy of James Patterson's latest book. It's basic supply and demand. If their supply is high, then you will get little. If they don't have a copy of your item then they will give you about half of what they will sell it for. i.e. giving you $5 for an item they sell at $10.

So there's the skinny. It's a great store, sometimes the wait is a few minutes longer then normal. Bring in your items earilier and you're wait time will be little. They have a great selection of books that you will NOT find at any other store locally such as Barnes and Knobles.

Their very scratched section is very reasonable with pricing.

Great: I love McKay's!! They always have a nice selection of manga and anime, and almost nowhere can beat their prices!!
