BBQ is the best around. Beans and french fries are great too. Platters are good, but not up to the BBQ. Ambiance leaves a bit to be desired but you can now get to the rest rooms without going outside -- that's an improvement. Seriously, great BBQ and decent service. They get REAL crowded so arrive early or late.
This is the nastiest restaurants I have ever eaten at. The BBQ tasted like woodchips and was just as tough. The french fries were cold and unsalted. The table was not big enough to accommodate us. The tea tasted like it was old. This place is so bad that rodents wouldn't even eat out of their trash. Don't go here, there are to many GOOD BBQ places in the Tricities and this IS NOT one of them.
When my husband and I first come twenty some odd years ago to visit friends in this area we were taken to the Ridgewood and promised some of the best BBQ in the world. We were delighted with our food on that first visit the same as we have been for every visit since. Once we ordered our food and were almost finished when one of the waitresses sat another hugh sandwich down at our table. We looked at her in confusion. She smiled and said
"I dont think I made your first sandwich large enough." Our sandwich had seemed plenty large enough to us. This is one example of the kind of service which we have always gotten along with the best BBQ in the world. It would be hard to find cole slaw anywhere in the world which is better also.

I guess James is a large man with a large family. I think James needs to go whine somewhere else. I bet James would like Pratt's BBQ it is nasty.
