I think I have Glenn Beck's disease. After a day trying to talk to a live person at Comcast, I have blood shooting out of my eyes. I absolutely never got a chance. I tried live chat support where I went from #4 in the queue to #5. They gave me the local number (423) 855-4300. I was told to hang up and call again later. I tried 1-800-COM-CAST & the Comcast Hotline 1-877-870-4310. You get the same automated phone system which eventually hangs up on me. No trick I'ved ever learned to get to a human worked. They just cut me off. Over the last two years my cost has gone up almost 50% without adding service.
They advertised time & time again on TV that with the coming change; that if you had Comcast, you would have to do nothing. In reality, you have to do something unless you only want about 8 channels. What worked before will not work now.
As soon as I can get EPB FIOS, I will be gone from Comcast. They used to be a LOT better. DSL is not an option. My AT&T landline doesn't work half the time. It is just as hard to place a trouble call with them on their automated line. It takes at least three days before they ever check the landline problem.
They should both rename their depts to Customer Irritation Departments.
What a joke! The customer service is not only rude, they will call you a lier to your face. I was on the phone with a "customer service" rep and I had a service tech standing next to me, when the "rept" told me that no one was ever sent to my house to connect my service. Not only did he yell and scream that I was not telling the truth, but when the tech got on the phone he told him that he was lying because he had never heard of his name. The tech finally got my major problems fixed but I was left without service for over a week because comcast ran out of hd boxes and could not get their internet to ever work right. I tell everyone that I come in contact with in my personal company that I own to never deal with comcast unless it is just as a last resort. Not only do I have personal service and business service but I pay for my 3 kids to have service at their homes as well. Boy I wish we had another cable company in Chattanooga Tennessee. I only gave one star because I had to. I wish I could give this wonderful company a -1
While I think the cable packages offered could definitely be cheaper, I have not had any of the problems described here. My bill is accurate and arrives with ample time to be paid before the due date, the service people have been helpful the few times I had to call, and when I have had to go to the office (switched boxes that were damaged by power surges during storms - thanks EPB! - the office people were nice, if a bit overworked because there were so few of them. Our service is dependable and has a pretty good channel selection. Overall, as a cable company, they're not any worse than any other I have dealt with. I don't have any major complaints. By the way, I don't have internet or telephone service with them because I have a better deal on both elsewhere. I stick with At&T because I have excellent DSL service with them, and the price has actually lowered a couple of times in the past five years. If you're going with landlines, the price for unlimited long distance in my package isn't bad either.
