Tom Brooks Exxon & Muffler Center

I have bought my gas from Tom Brooks for over 25 years. I never used the chain discount stations, even though prices were sometimes less, because I wanted to trade with a hometown business owner and his stations have always been kept clean and conveniet, Over the past year or so, however, Mr, Brooks has made it so diificult to buy gas from him, that I give up and will buy my gas elsewhere. First of all he cuts off all the pump nozzle tabs so that you have to stand there and hold the handle to pump gas. I could be writing my check while the gas pumped, otherwise. When Speedpass became available, I immediatley applied for one. It would keep me from having to write a check and walk it into the station for payment, plus it woudl give me a receipt for the purchase for my records. The problme is that Speedpass never works at his station! The first few times this happened, I held the pump until the tank was filled, then walked in to write a check for my purchase. More recently, I went to another Exxon station within ten minutes, and their Speedpass system worked as advertised. Most recentlly, Mr. Brooks now requires prepayment before I can even begin to pump gas, and since his Speedpass never works, I have to go in, write a blank check, go back out and stand holding the pump nozzle to pump a full tank of gas, then go back in, reinsert the blank check in my check book, so I will have a copy of the check, and then fill out the amount.

Mr. Brooks, as I said earlier, I will find a more convenient Exxon station to buy gas from in the future.
