i ate here the other day for the first time although i live close to kingsport. as soon as u walk in, the beauty of the gold arch greets you, followed by the foo dogs and buddha. make sure u look up at the awesome godl and red dragon tiles on the ceiling. there's a beautiful fountain inthe center of the main room. my husband had been here before so he insisted on a grill table. it was great! the table is black marble with a grill on one side with about 7 or 9 chairs around the table.
The food was so so great, too! i got a shrimp diner and my husband got sesame chicken( oh so yummy!!) there wasn't as much of a selection on the menu as i would've liked but it's ok! the taste makes up for it lol. it was really cool to watch our chef cook our yummy food. he didn't talk that much but that was ok too. it didn't take very long for him to cook it, either. and the smell of the cooking food is so great it'll make your mouth water. the rice was so good--even without soy sauce! and the shrimp(although not deveined) was so good too. my husband chicken(yes i snuck a bite) was the best sesame chicken i have ever tired! and the carrots we got we so yummy. i highly recommend this place. it was about 20.0 for 2 and thats including tip! we will defiantely be vistiting the fuji house again and again!!
They have the traditional style Japanese cooking dinner or lunch shows and the other side is more quiet intimate Thai & other oriental food. All tastes great. Nice prompt service.
Hidden Treasure: The Fuji House has been in Kingsport for years and years, but I only recently tried it for the first time. I was aware it was there, but never went, for whatever reason. I am sorry that I waited so long!
With the demise of Makato's in Johnson City, I had long lamented the loss of hibachi-style Japanese in the area until someone recently reminded me of the Fuji House.
The food is incredible, the ambience what you expect, and the prices are very affordable. The service is excellent as well.
While not physically hidden from view (it's just off Eastman Road), the Fuji House is a hidden treasure in Kingsport, and shouldn't be missed!
