Dolly does it right! Not only was the show fantastic, the food was wonderful and very filling. No one in my group was able to eat all they were served. By the time the apple turnover came out at the end, I was looking for something to wrap it up in to take home. The wait staff was great at keeping drinks refilled and getting everyone their next course. Not forks and spoons, but they've got it all taken care of - even the soup. This was my fourth visit and I'll go back again!
I have a special needs child and waiter was rude to her and very uncaring to needs! We went 01/02/09 to Xmas show and waiter needed to get GOD in his heart.will be hard for me to return.
After several vacations to Pigeon Forge, we finally managed to go to the Dixie Stampede. Everyone had told us how great it was.
The pros: The food is excellent. The chicken is the best I've had in a long time. It is juicy and tender with a wonderful chicken flavor. With all of the fast food chicken nuggets and tenders around, one tends to forget just how good chicken can be. The potato is also outstanding.
The show is choreographed very well and all of the principals (animals and actors) seemed to hit their marks perfectly. The pig and ostrich races were obviously fan favorites.
The oversized shell game (girl disappearing from a wagon) was a crowd pleaser and quite impressive.
The cons: Although the bench-style seats are padded, they are too narrow to be comfortable.
More time should be given to the pigs and ostriches.
The "pre-show" (comedy musicians) that everyone is urged to attend is, quite frankly, not worth it.
At the show's conclusion, everyone is herded through one door creating a bottleneck that causes many to miss their opportunity for a restroom break. And the restrooms are too small.
The show was good, the food was great, and everyone who visits Pigeon Forge should try to make time to visit the Dixie Stampede.
