I love this place. The Middle Eastern food is divine and, I think, beyond reproach. The building is a little dark, but the place definitely has it's own character. I find Mo and his wife charming, hospitable, and eager to make my tummy happy.
Dirty, dirty, dirty restaurant. The draw here is that you can bring your own alcohol, but be sure to bring something with a high enough proof to kill whatever might be growing in the glasses that they give you. Be especially sure to enjoy the "Better Homes and Gardens" from 1992 that's located in their restroom. Eat here at your own risk.
If you're smart enough and wordly enough to realize every meal doesn't have to involve a slab of meat, then you just might like King Tut's Grill. The owner, Mo, is friendly and comical. He will tell you that their Greek Salad is the best in Knoxville, and he's right; I've had it half a dozen times. I've also had the Egyptian Sampler, which is great. This would be a great stop for Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. You'll have to endure dark lighting, chunky flower vases for drinking, and some strange smells, but it's all worth it.

take it easy Katie !! i never had any prob, over there they is nice people ,
It's not dirty. They just use older glasses, it's part of the kind of 'retro' feel of the place. They are trying to create a particular atmosphere and they do it with old magazines, posters, lights, old china-ware, etc. I've been in the kitchen, trust me, it's clean. I don't work there, but I picked up a to-go order in the kitchen a few times.
