my mom had back surgery on october 5 "09" and was released on the 8th,yea they provided good care for her at the time, but some how it set up staff infection and was back in the hospital on the 18th,i would have to agree the e.r department sure dont mind to make you wait 5 to 8 hours to put ya in a room...that is totally frustrating,so anyway the medicine they put my mom on vacomycin and ryfampin has damaged my mom's kidney's,now she has to see a kidney doctor...they have gave her medicine for her potassium being too low, creatin too high in her kidneys gave her medicine for that, but you go to look back this has all started simply because of a simple back surgery that has back fired, some of the nurses were great especially on the 5th floor, where we have been at least 2 different times for the month of october, then at last we were on 12 floor, which all nurses was great there too,but 1 doctor would come in and tell you something and then another doctor would tell ya something different they are so un organized on some thing, but good at others...so if you are ever admitted to u.t hospital for anything dont be afraid to ask questions,on anything you are un sure about, and things will be ok,but if you dont ask questions you sure arent informed correctly of exactly whats going on and it can be very confusing.....but i do thank the ones that was so good to my mom and they were mostly on the 5th floor,////
I had a horrible and painful infection caused by a spider bite. I waited in the emergency room for eight hours, and the doctor barely looked at the wound. I later had to follow up with a doctor and found out that they had misdiagnosed me. When I tried to call the emergency room for records, I was transferred in mid-sentence not once, but five times until they dumped me off on a machine recording. If you can avoid using University of Tennessee's medical center, do so!
