I recently went to Misaki with a small group of friends. We ate on the Hibachi side of the restaurant, but we ordered sushi appetizers. The sushi arrived well after we had finished our meal. The food wasn't bad, but the serice was very slow. My drink glass was only refilled once, and that was when the sushi finally came out. I was very disappointed with my visit there, but I decided to give them another chance. I went back during the daytime and sat at the sushi bar this time. I never even placed my order. While I sat there waiting for a waitress, I saw 3 roaches walking up the wall just beside where I was sitting. I was out of there like lightning. I will never, ever return there again.
I have eaten at Misaki since it was Kyoto. The food is great and the service is top notch. I have eaten at most places in Knoxville over the past 20 years and I can tell you that the base of a great meal is how the rice is prepared. I have never had bad rice at Misaki. The sauces are great. I wish I could get the ginger dressing that they serve for home.
The sushi is wonderful. Everything is always fresh and the prices are reasonable. I have eaten sushi in Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, L.A. and Las Vegas and Misakiâs to me ranks right up there with what I have had there.
I always love to see Asian people eating in a sushi bar along with people from east TN. If you donât see people from the part of the world your restaurant is from be wary. The staff is always friendly and you will never get thirsty from what I have seen. And as warm as the food is served you know what I mean.
i've eaten in the sushi bar for years -they have the best sushi in town!(btw- i found out that ownership and staff did not change, only the name) i ate in the back (hibachi style) for the first time this weekend with a large party (it was my friends birthday)- the chef was very entertaining, and the service was great, as always. the food and drinks were excellent as well. i had a great time, and would recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate a b-day!
