About:Regas The Restaurant and The Gathering Place is a one-of-a-kind family owned business originally established in 1919. Regas is two restaurants in one location. Regas The Restaurant offers classic dining experiences that East Tennesseans have chosen as their favorite for many decades. Regas is a recipient of the Distinguished Restaurants of North America Award (www.dirona.com)recognizing its achievement of distinction in dining. Many guests choose their favorite dishes routinely from the selection of choice and prime steaks, fresh seafood, and homemade desserts. Other guests prefer to order from Chef David Hoyt's featured selections which are always creative and amazingly tasty. Should your taste buds prefer the traditional fare or prefer more adventurous dishes, Regas will be the ticket. The Gathering Place (The GP)features its own menu which is more "pub-like" and offers live music (refer to the website), drink specials, HD TV, WiFi, local artists, and casual fun.

    Too Bad: We tried Regas again, after a horrible experience six months ago. I wished I hadn't. It used to be so GOOD! Too bad this institution of Knoxville fine dining has fallen so badly.

    Best in Knoxville: A wonderful restaurant. Reasonably priced. Great service. Great menu. Downtown.
