Upon entering this large restaurant/bar I was impressed, there is a huge dining area, a bar and lounge upstairs, and large brewery equipment decorating the area. The service left something to be desired and the food was TERRIBLE! The chips were stale, the "veggies of the day" came right out of the microwave (I know this because they accidentally left the plastic bag on mine... and I didn't even order the veggies! I made the mistake of ordering the tacos, the ground beef was gray which made me wonder if it was beef or pigeon, and they were wet... as in the plate they set my food on was saturated with water. The rice that went with my meal was over cooked (and that too probably came out of the microwave). The beans resembled remnants of a toilet bowl after a horrible night at a buffet. My dining partner ordered the pork tenderloin which was drier than a rice cake and almost impossible to cut with a steak knife. The only tasty food on our table were the french fries, but despite asking twice we never got any ketchup for them. We were lucky enough to have our meal for free as it was inedible, thanks to the kind and understanding manager. Rather than eating here you might as well go to a fast food joint, not only will it be cheaper but tastier! Beers were pretty good although nothing to write home about. Perhaps they would have been better if they had been served cold rather than room temperature (and it was quite warm out that day). All in all I give this restaurant/bar 2/5 stars ONLY because we didn't have to pay for their inedible food. Our waiter was a complete jerk who was unapologetic. GO TO ANOTHER RESTAURANT/BAR!
I visited the Downtown Grill & Brewery for the first time last night. I was very impressed with the menu, the prices and the excellent quality of the food! The steak has a flavor that is unique and is worth the drive itself. The service was great. Drinks were filled without having to ask, table cleared as needed. The staff really seem to enjoy their jobs. A pleasant atomosphere and an excellent meal is waiting. I will be going back soon.
Recommended: The Downtown Grill offers a good time, with reasonable prices. The menu is loaded with great food choices, and there are over 100 items. The service could be improved, but is satisfactory. My only complaint is that the restaurant is too smoky, and non-smoking seats are upstairs (open to smoking area below).
